Carles Cases

Carles Cases (Sallent, 1958) is a Catalan musician.

He was trained in Piano and Cello in the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, harmony and piano-jazz in the Hastad Modern Music Academy, and orchestration and composition in the Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana.

He was a member of Lluís Rovira's Big Band in the 1970's and in 1982, he created the Carles Cases Quartet, and performed in several musical events all over Spain, while he was a member of a String Quartet as a Cello player, performing classical works.

He began his career as a soundtrack and audio-visual composer in 1989 and has produced several artists' works, including Lluís Llach, Martirio, Maria del Mar Bonet, Georges Moustaki.
