Carl Pfeiffer

Carl Curt Pfeiffer (1908-1988) was one of the founders of orthomolecular psychiatry . An MD and PhD, he was Chair of the Pharmacology Department at Emory University. Abram Hoffer was a collaborator of his. Linus Pauling was aware of, and perhaps marginally involved in his efforts. For many years Dr. Pfeiffer helped run the Princeton Brain-Bio Center, now known as the Earth House, which is dedicated to the orthomolecular treatment of those with psychiatric problems.
The Pfeiffer Treatment Center in Warrenville, Illinois is named in his honor.
