US House elections

Not vandalism. Inserting a fair balance message. 24.164.148.158 23:30, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Answering on your talk page... CaptainVindaloo 23:32, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I've refrained from deleting and have only added that the Democrats perceived weakness on homeland security could be an election issue. This is as true as anything else but obviously does not fit into your agenda.

I don't have an agenda, I'm just RC patrolling and can't think of a reason why a load of info might have been removed. Just present proof and people will stop reverting you. In the meantime, I'll be more careful with the double edged sword that reversion is. CaptainVindaloo 23:53, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I feel my addition is being deleted by 8bitjake for no valid reason. There is no vandalism going on here!24.164.148.158 00:09, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

You'll have to take that up with 8bitJake, I have little knowledge of US politics (I'm in the UK). I only got into this because your edit summary a while back looked dodgy ("I disagree with certain facts. I'm entitled"), as did a mass removal of content as well as 8bitJake's protests, so I reverted as blanking vandalism. CaptainVindaloo 00:20, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Regarding 213.249.155.240

Hi there, a couple of weeks ago you blocked User:213.249.155.240 as an open proxy, however that IP is one of the servers at the East Midlands Broadband Consortium in the UK, serving schools - and only schools - in that region, not an open proxy. I'll admit that theres a lot of vandalism coming from there, but there are plenty of people wanting to make useful contributions too, me for example. It works in a similar way to AOL - including jumping from one proxy to another on every page load. Any chance of just hour long blocks (i.e., for the rest of the lesson) for that IP, or the EMBC group?. Sorry about these idiots causing so much damage. Thanks, CaptainVindaloo 17:43, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

213.249.155.240 is one of hundreds of apparent open proxies/zombie computers used by the "SQUIDWARD!" vandal, as shown by Special:Contributions/213.249.155.240. The vandalism which prompted the immediate and indefinite block of this IP was not caused by anybody in your school district, I'm afraid, but rather by a vicious vandalbot which has access to scores of compromised computer networks throughout the world (see Wikipedia:Long term abuse/Squidward for more information). As your system is likely at risk of more serious problems than Wikipedia vandalism, I would advise an overhaul of network security. If it is possible to retrieve a log of activity on your network on February 14, 2006 from 06:39 to 06:44 UTC, this information may be valuable to the interests of both East Midlands Broadband Consortium and Wikipedia. — Mar. 2, '06 [19:01] <freakofnurxture|talk>
Thanks for your reply. I forgot to check the IP's contribs! I'm sure EMBC would be interested to hear about that squidward moron hijacking their servers. I'll mention it to one of our school technicians tomorrow, and he'll pass it on. Cheers, CaptainVindaloo 19:34, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Keep in touch with Wikipedia administrators regarding this issue. If you find anything interesting, feel free to post it at the Squidward vandal talk page. — Mar. 2, '06 [19:48] <freakofnurxture|talk>

So, I was just testing how to edit stuff on that one dude's page. I don't know who he is aside from a random dude from the internet, so I was about to erase the silly message when I'd figured it out.

Anyway, blocking this IP would be tragic. Like as tragic as Paris and Nicole not being friends anymore.

Pardon my weirdness, but I don't understand what a sandbox is and I don't get why I got a strange warning doohickey from ye.

Still, I was going to delete it. I just didn't know how or what a sandbox was. I picked a user randomly and tested it out. Sorry.

Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my userpage. That was very cruel of him to think that I like young asian women. But...in your fixing it, you didn't quite get it right. Promotions

I've noticed your sig remains CaptainVindaloo, despite your recent promotions and ascendance to the peerage. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to address you as HisGraceTheDukeVindaloo?

  • OK, seriously now...I noticed you like to do clean-up on needy articles, and I'll be looking for exactly that kind of help in the near future. I just started expanding this stub with what I knew off the top of my head. Now I've realized that the best way to go is probably to write a more complete article off-line, then copy it in. I hope to complete that in the next week or so. Could I ask you to look it over once I do? (I wouldn't put much effort into clean-up yet, since I'll probably over-write most of my own work). When you have time you can respond here as I've Watchlisted your page. I like to keep conversations in one place when possible :)

PS - I can't believe you wore that battered breastplate and those shabby boots into WP. This is a formal setting, and Full Dress Uniforms are required, complete with tights and plums. Please dress appropriately in the future! Doc Tropics 19:20, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Sir, yes Sir! I've watchlisted that article. Fixed a category link while I was at it. Feel free to message me when the new article goes online, though it may take me a short while to respond. Exams, and all... CaptainVindaloo t c e 20:13, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you YourGrace, keep up the good work and I'll see to it that you get an increase in your plumes allowance :) Doc Tropics 20:57, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Inline Citations

Thanks for cleaning up Fused glass and changing to inline citations. That's exactly what I had wanted to do, but I hadn't figured out how yet :) By reviewing the history I was able to see how you did it, so hopefully I'll be able to do it properly from now on. You do good work CaptainVindaloo and I appreciate your help. Thanks again and good luck with your exams. Doc Tropics 16:25, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for voting!
Hello CaptainVindaloo, and thank you so much for voting in my recent RfA. I am pleased to inform you that it passed with a final tally of (119/1/3), into the WP:100, so I have now been cleared for adminship and will soon be soaring above the clouds. I was overjoyed, shocked, and humbled by the tally, and, most importantly, all the support. Thank you. If there is ever anything you need, you know where you can find me. Take care.

more thanks

Thanks again for keeping an eye (or monitor) on my work at Fused glass. I noticed you made a significant improvement to my language and I really appreciate, especially since I know you're busy. Speaking of which...how are your exams going? Good luck! Doc Tropics 23:02, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

No problem. Two exams left! Yay! CaptainVindaloo t c e 23:04, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi again. I hope your exams went well. Is it possible you could help me on another article? I'm hoping that Higgins Glass might make it into DYK but there is a time-limit involved (I think 72 hours), and it would really benefit from your attention. I hate to impose on someone who's already done so much, but I don't know anyone else on WP with your skills at editing. Does flattery get me anywhere? If so I can pile it on much thicker :) --Doc Tropics 18:24, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok, i'll have a look. I'm not much of an expert on glass though, I could probably lecture all day on the Chemistry side of it, but not on the artistic bit. Oh, the time limit is five days to get into DYK. CaptainVindaloo t c e 18:29, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Interestingly enough, I have a lot of practical experience with glassworking, but I'm somewhat lacking on the Chemistry side of it. For this article it won't matter, but I'm actually addressing exactly that issue in Fused glass and Dichroic glass. Feel free to check those out and either add or edit as you deem appropriate. I must say, it's been nice to have you 'covering my back' as it were, and I think we could make a good team :) --Doc Tropics 18:40, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

I just added the CSM link to Higgins glass, but it's all buggered up...Doc Tropics 19:56, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Your DYK nomination for Higgins Glass was successful

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Higgins Glass, which you recently nominated, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Thanks for your contributions! ++Lar: t/c 17:28, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Willy on Wheels, etc.

OMG! I just read your last edit on Talk:Higgins Glass and damn near sprayed a mouthful of coffee across my keyboard from laughing too hard. You twit! --Doc Tropics 19:07, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Careful now. And why not? There should be a tag somewhere. Possibly at Template:Vandalised on Wheels! CaptainVindaloo t c e 19:13, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't running down your idea, it just caused an inconvenient humor eruption. I actually like the Template:Vandalised on Wheels! idea. BTW - Like many American males I often have trouble expressing "positive" feelings...coming from me "you twit" is practically a term of endearment :) --Doc Tropics 19:21, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Meh, no problem. I was going to call it Template:WoW-vand or something similar, but you can pretty much guarantee that it would be moved to Template:WoW-vand on Wheels! and back constantly. You've got to hand it to the guy, that modus operandi is hilariously absurd. CaptainVindaloo t c e 19:25, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh yeah, you gotta laugh. BTW - I found Forbes State Forest as a stub and quickly gathered enough raw material to turn it into an article. Interested? I'll probably not post new content until tomorrow due to some RL obligations, but it might be a fun little project. --Doc Tropics 19:40, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Sure, might as well, i've got little better to do on saturdays. You after another DYK feature? CaptainVindaloo t c e 19:46, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm finding DYK very attractive for two reasons:

1) adding useful content to WP is obviously worthwhile in its own right.
2) seeing an article that we created on the mainpage, plus the little banners on our Userpages is really gratifying.
related to #2, I was a little bothered that 'my' banner said "...which you created", but your banner said "...which you nominated". I really don't think you're getting proper credit for the excellent work you did. I know that 'credit' shouldn't matter here, and it's just a minor point, but I'm going to copy-and-paste the "...you created" banner right below this section. You can either keep or delete it as you see fit. Either way, that project was a lot of fun and a serious case of good teamwork. --Doc Tropics 20:00, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Octopi

Hi. If you look on the octopus page there is more info on this. Some dictionaries consider "octopi" ok, while others specifically don't. Personally I consider it a hypercorrection in the same way as "virii" or "penii" is wrong. Fragglet 12:52, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I thought the plural of octopus was Calamari. Oh wait, that's squid isn't it? --Doc Tropics 18:59, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Credit where it's due

Updated DYK query On June 29, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Higgins Glass, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

And we're off

I started adding content to Forbes State Forest, Pennsylvania today. Unfortunately I'm having a bad allergy attack; my head is plugged and my brain is fuzzy. I won't be able to work as fast as we did on Higgins Glass; I expect my responses will be slow and only marginally coherent. I think I used the word "area' about a zillion times in 3 paragraphs. I'm going to drop a note to Johntex about this article because he has a great knack for adding images and right now it's just a plain block of text. Happy editing! --Doc Tropics 16:53, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, i'll take a look. CaptainVindaloo t c e 19:30, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
I've made a couple of small changes, but I can't think of much more to do. I can't think of a better word than 'area', not knowing much about the place. Concentric stone circles are known in Britain as 'Henges' (most notably, Stonehenge), but i'm not sure whether this is a generic term for all such monuments, or specific to European Celtic monuments. It could be a more impressive word to use, however. Get well soon, by the way! CaptainVindaloo t c e 20:01, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your help and good wishes. The bit about "Concentric stone circles" is how they describe natural circles with a specific frost-and-erosion pattern. I just put the name in there as a placeholder; I'll fill it in with detail as soon as my head clears up. Have a fun weekend :) --Doc Tropics 20:59, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Natural circles? I never would have thought that possible. Still, with climate characteristics, and Earth being bloody wierd at times... CaptainVindaloo t c e 21:12, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

I've just finished adding the rest of the info that I wanted to get in, including a description of how the stone rings are formed; I hope it makes sense. I've got 2 images to add, but I'm waiting for clarification of copyright issues (they both came from a U.S. gov site) It might also benefit from more external links, and of course, lots of clean-up. I'll continue to twiddle with it. --Doc Tropics 18:56, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Arn't US Government agency created images classed as Public Domain, unless they are of UFO's out of Area 51? </conspiracytheorist> :-) CaptainVindaloo t c e 23:04, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Oh geeze, I wish you hadn't mentioned UFO's, now the Cabal will have to wipe your memory. Aw crap, I just said it too...--Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 23:16, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Thats a rather good image you added to the article, is it a painting or photo? (Its a little on the small side) CaptainVindaloo t c e 23:22, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Alas, the image was a photo from the state gov which means I had to yank it. I guess U.S. gov images are Public Domain, but state gov's are not :( --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 04:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

G'day! I'm pretty much done adding to Forbes article now, but it doesn't seem as interesting as I'd hoped. Do you think this is even worth a DYK nom? Any suggestions for another project (assuming you'd like to try again)? --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 14:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query On July 5, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Forbes State Forest, which you contributed to. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Gosh, thanks for the sandwich CV, you know how hungry I get after expanding an article :) You've helped me out a lot recently, and I've learned a lot from working with you. So what can I do for you in return? Is there an article you'd me to help with, or possibly an editor you'd like me to mock? Anything, just name it :) --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 22:37, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, i've been on Runescape for a bit.
Hmm, ever heard of SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle? I have been intending to get that to Good, or even Featured status someday. CaptainVindaloo t c e 01:47, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

SWAT3 + Misc

I'm not familiar with the game but I'd be happy to work on the article with you. I'll do some research so that I have at least some bacis knowledge to get started with. I really like the idea of working on articles with the goal of improving their status! It's going to be a long project though, and I'm about to go out of town for a week on vacation. I'll try to brush up on the subject and be ready to dive in when I get back; sound good?

On a somewhat disenheartening note, I'm currently defending myself against another editor's accusation that I threatened them. This would probably be funny (and it all started with a joke) except that the accusation was made in a public forum at the Village Pump.I care enough about my reputation in the WP community that I'm pretty disturbed by this. You and I have worked together a couple of times now; can you imagine me threatening someone? If you want to try following this rather silly series of threads part of it is on my Talkpage in the section "OUTSTANDING!" and the accusation appears there, as well as at Wikipedia: Village pump (assistance) under the heading "What to do if one suspects a threat has been made against them". It can be hard to follow the thread so I'll tell you what kicked it off: Aeon1006 and I had been involved in an AfD that was very controversial (we were both voting for deletion) and when it finally closed I put a note on his Talkpage that said "This article needs to be put down with a stake through its heart and holy wafers in its mouth." User:Tiamut, who had opposed the deletion, saw this comment and interpreted it as being both an offense against his religion and a specific personal threat against himself. Needless to say, I was surprised by his accusation on my Talkpage, and shocked that he posted to the Village Pump. I know that my sense of humor is a bit questionable at times, but this seems like a pretty severe reaction! I've created a section on my Talkpage called "Critiques" for people to eomment about this situation. If you're interested, I'd appreciate your input there. Thanks --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 17:25, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, the whole situation was resolved amicably this afternoon. Now I can get back to editing :) --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 21:18, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Gah! Sorry, Runescape again. I can't say i'd see that as a personal attack, as it was directed at the article ("Comment on content, not contributor"). Just be careful though. Glad it blew over. I'm going to see if I can dig up the manual for SWAT3, meanwhile we could use Half-Life 2, a recent videogame FA, for divine inspiration. Thanks for your interest! CaptainVindaloo t c e 23:33, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a good plan to me; I'm looking forward to it. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 00:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm back, just a little brain-muddled from jetlag still. I checked in on the Forbes State Forest Talkpage (left a brief comment there) and I almost choked when you refered to me as the article's "content expert"! I need to wrap up a few other loose threads, then I'd be willing to dive into SWAT3 with you, assuming you're still interested in that one. I also noticed that Final Fantasy X just made FA, so there's another source of inspiration for us. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 17:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Welcome back, hope you had a nice holiday! I still haven't found the manual for SWAT3, but we might be able to get a PDF copy from the website. I have however managed to get my copy of the game working, so it can be illustrated with screenshots. I'll grab some of the multiplayer and loadout sections of the game, someone else has already got some ingame shots. CaptainVindaloo t c e 18:54, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

User:65.138.71.118

Some kinds of behavior are so obviously unacceptable that the miscreant cannot possibly be acting in good faith. This is one of them. In which case (this case involved death threats to another user, and gross racial slurs) there's no need to wear the nicey-nicey hat. This user (65.138.71.118 (talk contribs))was coming from a dialup concentrator in Louisville, Kentucky: if they persist, we can apply short term range-blocks to the whole concentrator, if need be. -- The Anome 20:57, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Incidentally, at a quick guess, that range would be likely to be the block of 512 addresses at 65.138.70.0/23 If you've got any more addresses for this vandal, we can refine this to a better blocking range. -- The Anome 21:01, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. In future I'll take it straight to WP:ANI or an Admin on the first instance. Good to see there is a zero-tolerance policy on racism. CaptainVindaloo t c e 21:13, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

OK, let's widen that a bit: I see that they are also coming in from nas7.louisville1.ky.us.da.qwest.net., as well as nas6. So: let's widen that to 65.138.68.0/22 to cover the 1024 Qwest IP addresses in ...68, ...69, ...70, and ...71. -- The Anome 21:21, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I guess I'm not really keeping much track of it, I just spotted that particular IP make an attack, reverted it, then warned. I didn't realize it was as big as this. Its just a pity that only proxies and zombies can be indef blocked. I'll keep an eye out, whatever happens. CaptainVindaloo t c e 21:32, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

SWAT3

Oh yeah, the Loadout image looks great, especially after I click to enlarge. Mostly I've just puttered with the article so far, but I'll bet we could add some content with a bit more history (how it differs from previous versions), maybe some sales figures (if available), possibly a brief quote from a notable reviewer, etc. I'll see what I can dig up, but you probably have more resources than I do. Cheers! --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 21:26, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I've got a copy of PC Gamer's review somewhere. I think SWAT3 should be a redirect... CaptainVindaloo t c e 21:34, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I'll post a copy of the review at Talk:SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle. CaptainVindaloo t c e 21:37, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
(edit conflict)Heh heh, I was going to suggest SWAT3 and SWAT3:CQB both as redirects, mostly because I tried them both (and got nowhere). I also meant to mention the chuckle I got from your team-member names in the Loadout image. Princess & Muffin must make a tough combo! --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 21:42, 20 July 2006 (UTC) PS - dang, you're fast :) --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 21:42, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Oh, they are nicknames. The actual surnames for those two are Lerner and Horton, respectively. CaptainVindaloo t c e 21:51, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I got them all wrong. They are nicknames, but from left to right in the image is: Terrance 'Tiny' Harper, Aaron 'Hardcore' Bronsky, Albert 'Muffin' Garcia, James 'Princess' Horton and David 'Pokey' Lerner. Officers cannot be customised, their names and nicks are predetermined. In this case, I was playing a single mission with a pregenerated player character, on campaign mode however, you create your own officer. CaptainVindaloo t c e 22:45, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
D'oh, now I get it. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 02:01, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Did you think I made the nicknames myself?! I'm not that random! :-) CaptainVindaloo t c e 02:34, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I had to clear my cache, but now the first image I see is "engaging a suspect" and the second is "Loadout"; the third image remains the same. It was not showing properly until I did a manual refresh :) --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 02:39, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

But in the article, for the 'Engaging a suspect' image; are you getting the staircase one with two suspects, or one with two officers and dazzled suspect? CaptainVindaloo t c e 02:43, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm getting the staircase version; that's your new add right? --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 02:49, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, thats the one I uploaded. Must be just my PC acting up *again*. I'll go properly nuke the cache. Cheers, CaptainVindaloo t c e 02:51, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
That did the trick. I see the right one now. CaptainVindaloo t c e 02:53, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
I've been reviewing the article and I think it looks better now. I'm not actually sure what more to do with it at this point. Do you have any more ideas, or shall we let it sit for awhile and see what happens? --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 15:43, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Peer review? Theres also a version of peer review at the CVG wikiproject, as well an improvent drive style program, too. There aren't very many cites in the article, its just a pity we can't cite the game itself. CaptainVindaloo t c e 16:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
LOL, if you want to try for peer review I'd suggest starting with the CVG options. I suspect they'd give more useful immediate input on how to improve it. I've been distracted these past few days, but I'll be happy to help continue the process; just let me know what you want to do. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 17:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
I'll have another go through the game, to see if there is anything we have missed. I'll also have a look through the requirements for a CVG Peer Review. CaptainVindaloo t c e 17:38, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Didn't you once have a message template about fans adding cruft to the RS pages, or is that a false memory? Hyenaste (tell) 20:10, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

I had an idea about that, to go with the fancruft template for articles. The only other templates I've made are the linkspam ones. I'll whip up a couple of user fancruft warnings then. Speaking of which, can you think of any problems with the article fancruft template? If not, I'll move it to a portal subpage and start adding them. I'm assuming that the lack of commentary means that nobody has any objections. CaptainVindaloo t c e 20:15, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Talk: Runescape Hiscores

I know it's not in "article condition" yet. I wasn't completely done adding information about it. I just had to add some references from Runescape's main page. In the mean time, I will rv back and make some more changes.--Ed 19:45, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

That article will never be encyclopedic, the hiscores deserve nothing more than a couple of sentences in the main article. The first paragraph is a borderline attack against Zezima (which is CSD A6), the second paragraph duplicates everything in RuneScape skills. CaptainVindaloo t c e 19:48, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
The first paragraph is not intended to involve Zezima. In fact, the statements are not favorable to or against Zezima. The article is merely used to explain the scoring system of RuneScape, with no other purposes to promote or insult anyone.--Ed 19:58, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
But the hiscores system can be explained in two or three sentences in the main article. It is nowhere near notable enough to warrant a separate article. There is no way this will survive the next time the AfD wagon comes around. It is an attack page against Zezima, because it repeats unsubstantiated rumours accusing him/her of cheating. CaptainVindaloo t c e 20:21, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Point taken. I have removed the material about Zezima in the article, but I still think that the article content is encyclopedic once enough info is added.--Ed 20:32, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm afraid that I don't think an article about a hiscores system in a computer game is notable enough. And i'm usually inclusionist, especially with RuneScape pages. CaptainVindaloo t c e 20:53, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

A smile for you...

Re: On The Moon

Yes, sorry about that. I did try uploading a new version of the existing pictures, but everytime I did so, it didn't seem to work properly, so I instead just decided to upload completely new versions. If you have any suggestions as to why it might not have worked, that would be helpful. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by ERT (talkcontribs) .

Oh okay, sounds odd but from what I hear, success or failure with uploading can be seemingly based on the position of the sun and moon sometimes. :-) You might want to bring it up at the Village pump. By the way, please sign your posts! CaptainVindaloo t c e 20:21, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the Revert.

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my image. I'm just wondering however if you could find out why he/she vandalised it. According to one of the edits her/his username is ranger 55151. If you can pm him/her and ask about the reason for doing it, I iwll be very grateful. J.J.Sagnella 16:28, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Sure, no problem. I've not been on RS for a bit (I tend to just flit in and out, I'll be on again soon enough), so you might have a chance message Mr 55151 before me. CaptainVindaloo t c e 16:32, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Not in Now, maybe his/her private chat is off or lives in a different time zone. J.J.Sagnella 16:37, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, this will NOT, happen again

One of my students once again vandilised this site, as a precaution, our students will no longer be allowed to visit Wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.155.216.42 (talkcontribs) .

Half page deletion

This edit. No, it was just that Exarion decided to move it to it's own page at Runescape history and development. We'll have to get rid of the new page as there is no longer a size issue on the page as it is. Hyenaste (tell) 00:30, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I see that now, but the subpage was empty at the time. I would have thought that the page would be finished before it was linked to. I also would have expected the subpage content to be a newly-written expansion to the section, rather than a cut and paste move. CaptainVindaloo t c e 00:36, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Yup. I've asked him about it now. Hyenaste (tell) 00:39, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, thanks for reverting the vandalism to my userpage! Take care, --Kyoko 17:13, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

re RS revert

Yes, that seems to be right. I haven't played RS in almost a year now, so I just can't catch up with the updates. But when I also checked the editing made to RS, the text did seem to make it more "crufty".--Ed ¿Cómo estás? 02:14, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Adminship...

Hey, captain If ur interested id put u on the RFA list. I think you deserve it, but i dont wanna go off all willy-nilly puting you in places you dont wanna be. Let me know on my talk page. → p00rleno (lvl 76) ←ROCKS Whenever you happen to read it, ive just posted it .0001ms before... jk AYE AYE!

Heh, I appreciate it, mate! I might be a bit too nooby for adminship - i've only just passed 2000 edits although i've nearly been here a year. I'll try an Editor Review application, that might make it a bit clearer. Lots of voters want 1 Featured Article credited to prospective admins though, nowadays. :-/ CaptainVindaloo t c e 00:58, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Ok, when you are ready... → p00rleno (lvl 76) ←ROCKS 7:33 Am November 8, 2006

Hmm...

Well, no page is ever going to be protected permanently, and that includes RuneScape (btw, I'm ex-RS player lol). However, I didn't see why there were two templates at first (one at top of the page and one at the corner), but I guess since you have that little button on the top corner, it's fine now. Nishkid64 00:52, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Per policy, yes. But when it was unprotected on the 23rd September, for example, it was vandalized seven times in just two and a half hours, before it was protected again. Same story for every other unprotection experiment, so semiprotection might as well be permanent. CaptainVindaloo t c e 01:00, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

No problem. Actually, I had meant to revert the vandalism just before that (this here) but I waited too long to click. Sneaky IP. ... discospinster talk 02:15, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

My RuneScape locations rewrite

Thanks for the help. Really, any relevant information is good. By the way, I've just been taking the current section from RuneScape locations, removing fancruft, and rewriting some parts. It makes things easier. --Pyrospirit Talk Contribs 16:34, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome. I just think maybe writing it up from scratch, with the old as a source will help refresh the article. CaptainVindaloo t c e 16:38, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Could be, but for now I'm just trying to get some information. I'll worry about wording and order and stuff later. --Pyrospirit Talk Contribs 16:41, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
