Peter John May (birth-named Francis Lamontagne) is the bassist, singer and the former member with Dan Gibson of the Quebec band The Auximenes.

Daniel Gibson and Peter May are cousins. At age of 5, he makes drawing, comics and, in particuliar, music. He listens to various music bands, french and english, old and young. In his first year at school, he knows read and write and writes many texts about many things.
At 10, he owns a classical guitar, an acoustic guitar, a bass guitar, a drum kit and a keyboard[1].

Peter May created and dissolved many bands :
- Les Chanteux d'Casserole (a French band) ;
- Les Bombarders (an English-French band) ;
- Les Wannabees (an English-French band).
This last band becomes the English band "The Auximenes". He invites his cousin Dan Gibson to join the band. Keith Young and Mike Jones joined the band as, respectively, keyboardist and drummer.
