[edit] The First Capital

I think that there are other capitals before Memphis.

Not for almost all of Egypt's history, it wasn't. Thanatosimii 04:10, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Most of those capitals are wrong

First, there were many periods when there was no one "capital of Egypt," So there can't be a single correct chronological list. Second, you've got Memphis, the legendary first capital, going back as far as 3100, instead of the city of This, which was the real capital in the thinite period. Abydos is suspected of functioning as a capital during the old period as well. Furthermore, we've got the Tanis error on the page as well. Tanis became a capital later on, but during the time listed, it was most certainly not capital. Avaris was de facto capital during that period, and avaris and tanis have been confused prior to the 1980's, but tanis is now cerainly not avaris. Thanatosimii 17:44, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
