I've removed the pro-capitaliq wording in the business description Evanreiser 21:41, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia has some fairly strong notability requirements for companies, which you may view at Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations). There is a further requirement that the entry be written by a disinterested third party. You might review those pages and see if that gets you anywhere. Luckily, Wikipedia also requires a third set of eyes on this (the administrator) prior to deletion. They may be able to make some other suggestions for you. Good luck! Capital IQ has filed and enforces US patents, i think that makes it notable http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT7089229&id=zL96AAAAEBAJ&dq=%22capital+iq%22&jtp=1 Evanreiser 15:30, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't think this article should be deleted.

  • 1. Capital IQ should qualify as web content.
  • 2. Many, many people in the corporate finance world use it (at least analysts)
  • 3. "CapIQ" has become a slang term for doing relatively sophisticated, but easy company searches. Exp: "Do you have any targets for XY corp?" "Nah, I'll just do a CapIQ on it"
  • 4. I guess my instinct here is that because Capital IQ is a popular web service and research tool in corporate finance, it should be given a little bit of slack on the notability. Esp. because the corporate finance career is appealing to many college age students, and knowing what CapIQ is likely to help them get a job.
  • 5. I will try to work on the article when I have some time, so just don't delete it yet. 192.195.154.163 10:32, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

CapitalIQ is a premiere tool in the Finance industry used by over 1700 firms, anyone in finance would think its absurd that this page keeps getting deleted Evanreiser 15:22, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
