Captain Tsubasa based on the popular anime series. Released on the Famicom in 1988 by Tecmo. The first of many games based on the series which have appeared on many systems including the Famicom, Super Famicom, Mega CD and Playstation.

Created a genre of games known as "Cinematic Soccer". This means that rather than having direct control over the action like a standard football sim the game has a cinematic angle with the player having to choose his actions from a timed list and the results of these actions are animated on screen.
