Captain Michalis

Captain Michalis is one of the most widely read books of Modern Greek literature, written by Nikos Kazantzakis, who was influenced by his early years on the island uses explicite greek words and uses the Cretan idiom in a way that preserves it untouched.

The book is named after his father Michalis Kazantzakis, whom the the writer really looked up to.
