Capitoline Antinous
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Capitoline Antinous is a statue found at Hadrian's Villa, Tivoli, and now held at the Capitoline Museums, Rome. In the 17th century it was considered to be one of the most beautiful Greek statues in the world. It was then thought to represent Hadrian's lover Antinous, but is now considered to be a Roman Imperial era copy of a 4th century BC Greek statue of Hermes.
