Cape Apostolos Andreas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cape Apostolos Andreas (Cape Saint Andrew) is the north-easternmost point (promontory) of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus ( ) . It lies (at the tip of the finger-like Karpass Peninsula) inside the Turkish-Cypriot administered area of North Cyprus (known locally as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which so far is only recognized as sovereign by one nation and a small number of sub-national entities). The TRNC calls the promontory Zafer Burnu (Cape Zafer). The famous Apostolos Andreas Monastery is located just south of the promontory itself. It is listed by the United Nations as a World Heritage site.
