Template:Canvass

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your contributions history shows that you have been aggressively cross-posting in order to influence {{{1}}}. Although the Arbitration Committee has ruled that "[t]he occasional light use of cross-posting to talk pages is part of Wikipedia's common practice"1, such cross-posting should adhere to specific guidelines. In the past, aggressively worded cross-posting has contributed towards an Arbitration Committee ruling of disruptive behavior that resulted in blocking2. It is best not to game the system, and instead respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building, by ceasing to further crosspost, and instead allowing the process to reflect the opinions of editors that were already actively involved in the matter at hand. Thank you.

Template usage notes
  • See documentation.
  • Most test(n) templates take a single optional parameter: the name of the page to which the template applies. If provided, this page will be cited in the warning.
  • test5 optionally takes two parameters:
  1. The first is the duration of the block (with "temporarily blocked" as the default if a specific period is not provided).
  2. The second is the name of the page to which the template applies. If provided, this page will be cited in the warning.
  • Please refer to the index of test templates before using any template on user talk pages to warn a user. Applying the best template available for your purpose may help reduce confusion from the message you are sending.
  • Please remember to substitute the template—use {{subst:Canvass}} rather than {{Canvass}}.
