Canton Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the steepest public street in the U.S. According to an article from the Pittsburgh Press on Jan 11, 1987 citing information compiled by the Surveys Division and the Snow and Ice Control Program, Dept of Public Works, Canton Street has a steepness of 37%.
