Cane Creek Mountains

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cane Creek Mountains is a continuous ridge of mountains north of Snow Camp in Alamance County, North Carolina. The mountains are considered to be a line of Monadnock mountains and stretch for about 10 miles from just north of Snow Camp to just south of Graham. The mountains are pretty continuous in height with the highest point being around 975 feet. They are the highest point in Alamance County. The mountains are home to several television and radio transmitters and to numerous cellular and communications towers. A surviving fire tower is also located on top of the mountains. The mountains as a whole are sometimes mistakenly called "Bass Mountain" Bass Mountain in reality is one of the mountains in the chain, but since the mountains are one continous ridge, it can easily be mistaken that the chain is actually one big mountain.[citation needed]
