Candy Sale is an episode in the fictional animated series Beavis and Butt-head. It appeared in the fifth season (1994-1995) and is available on DVD as part of The Mike Judge Collection Volume 2.
[edit] Synopsis
Highland High School has recruited a fundraising representative to get the students to sell candy to raise money for the school. The representative is called "Mr. Candy", and just so happens to be the man who unsuccessfully tried to teach the students good manners in a previous episode. Coach Buzzcut threatens the class with dire consequences if his class is not the top selling at the end of the campaign. Beavis and Butt-Head cannot come up with a sales pitch, and end up selling one candy bar each to Tom Anderson, only after both of them cut the price in half. With the two dollars they now share, they proceed to "buy" candy bars from each other and gorge themselves in the process.
When "Mr. Candy" returns to collect the money, he is extremely angry that Beavis and Butt-head only have two dollars and no candy left. Upon attempting to assault the two, Beavis makes a scene reminiscent of the "Manners Suck" episode, at which point Coach Buzzcut walks in. He yells at Mr. Candy for attacking Beavis, at which point Candy slaps Buzzcut, effectively signing his own death wish.
[edit] Notes
- Mr. Candy refers to his stint as "Mr. Manners" after Beavis comments that Candy is sexually assaulting him, telling the two it took him six months to get another job.
- As in "Manners Suck", this episode ends in a fight between the guest and the teacher; however, this time the results are drastically different.
- In both episodes featuring him, Mr. Candy is voiced by David Spade.
