Canale Monterano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rome in the Italian region Latium, located about 40 km northwest of Rome. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,470 and an area of 36.9 km².[1]
The municipality of Canale Monterano contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) La Piana and Montevirginio.
Canale Monterano borders the following municipalities: Blera, Manziana, Oriolo Romano, Tolfa, Vejano.
