Regional profile

Southwestern Ontario has traditionally supported the Liberals however, it has now swung away from them to support the Conservatives, particularly in the rural areas. The area has a very pronounced urban-rural split where all three major parties hold seats. The New Democratic Party (NDP) holds both seats in Windsor and holds one in London. Liberal support in Southwestern Ontario is strongest in London where they hold two of the four seats. These are the only two seats they hold in the region. The rural areas now are completely held by the Conservatives after they picked up three Liberal seats in the last election.
