The Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWACs) were estabilished on August 13 1941. At first they were called the Canadian Women's Auxiliary Corps. On March 13 1942 they were inducted into the Canadian Army and became the Canadian Women's Army Corps. Since women were not allowed to enter in combat of any kind the CWACs worked as secretaries, clerks, canteen workers, vehichle drivers and many other non-combat military jobs. Even though the women could do the jobs just as good or better then the men they were only paid 2/3 of what the men were paid (this figure later becmae 4/5). In August 1946 the CWACs were disbanded and were reconsituted on March 22 1948. The CWACS were disbanded for good in 1964.
