Canadian Music Trade (CMT) Magazine – first issue published in 1979, October/November issue. Published bi-monthly. In addition to regular circulation, CMT is distributed at trade events across Canada, the United States and Internationally. Published by Norris-Whitney Communications based in St. Catharines, Ontario. Cover of magazine usually features music retailers, store owners or prominent industry figures. Magazine was started in response to the need for a publication serving Canadian music dealers and suppliers.

Canadian Music Trade is a resource guide for dealers in Canada for over 25 years, providing retailers with information on industry events and shows along with new product information, industry news, business technology updates, retail profiles, personal profiles, tips on running their business, new companies, profiles and more. CMT features news, on-line highlights, new products, events, industry profiles, business advice and industry trends.

Canadian Music Trade celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2004.

Norris-Whitney Communications also publishes the following three magazines: Canadian Musician, Professional Sound and Professional Lighting, and Music Directory Canada.

Other divisions of Norris-Whitney Communications are Music Books Plus and Music & Home Entertainment Show.
