Melissa O'Neil won the title of the first female Canadian Idol and the youngest Idol ever in North America in 2005, beating runner-up Rex Goudie.

Since the Third Season of Canadian Idol, Melissa O'Neil, Rex Goudie, Aaron Walpole and Suzi Rawn have released solo albums. Casey LeBlanc, Ashley Leitao and Amber Fleury formed a trio called "Braided". Braided released their debut album "Casey, Ashley, & Amber" in 2006. They are the first music group to come from an Idol show in the world.
