Canadian Idiot is a 2006 song by "Weird Al" Yankovic from his album Straight Outta Lynwood. It is a parody of Green Day's "American Idiot". The song's lyrics depict a stereotypical American view of Canadians' way of life. Yankovic makes fun of various Canadian things such as their accent and their love for hockey and curling. The lyrics are intended to be sarcastic, and in a way the song is making fun of Americans for believing that is how all or most Canadians actually are.

[edit] Music video

MuchMusic, a 24-hour Canadian cable music and variety television channel, recently ran a contest for the song on their website, which ended December 27, 2006. Entrants had to submit a video of themselves being the "ultimate Canadian idiot." Five winning clips were to be shown on Much On Demand. [1] This project has been cancelled due to lack of submissions. [2]
