User talk:Campese
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! I found your page (I'm assuming that you are Mike Campese). I suggest that you read the guidelines for Wikipedia; it is hard to begin at Wikipedia, but this is not a host for homepages and should not be treated as such. I edited your page to fit Wikipedia's guidelines. If you have any comments, go to my User talk. Thank you. Linka 21:10, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mike C 148 jpg smaller file.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Mike C 148 jpg smaller file.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted seven days after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Dethomas 06:29, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Mike C 0010.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Mike C 0010.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peter O. (Talk) 17:36, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
Please don't take down the cleanup tag. Have you seen WP:AUTO? --Guinnog 06:48, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- I put it there for a reason. Please discuss here or in the article talk rather than revert my edits. The image cannot be used if it is a Wikipedia-only file; can you license it as GFDL? Please talk to me rather than just reverting your article again. --Guinnog 07:04, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- Can you provide references for any of the stuff in Mike Campese? --Guinnog 07:21, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
In addition, you are one revert away from violating WP:3RR on the article. If you remove the cleanup tag again, you may be blocked. Please discuss the issue on the article talk page. --Ars Scriptor 15:32, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please confirm
Are you in fact Mike Campese? There are special reasons for my question. Thanks in advance, --Guinnog 02:59, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- As you have not answered this, and you seem to have written most of the article, and as the article is completely unreferenced other than to the Mike Campese website, I fear the article may have to be deleted. Is there any way you can reply to this? It would be a shame if your work got deleted. One possibility is you could 'userfy' the information. Please let me know what you think. --Guinnog 18:50, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've nominated the article for deletion. Feel free to join the debate if you can justify keeping the article. Providing better references would be a good way forward. --Guinnog 07:42, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Please do not recreate deleted articles. You had your chance to argue if you had wanted to. --Guinnog 15:56, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

All of the info on this page is true facts, the info is on www.mikecampese.com..... Mike Campese management
What do you want us to send you for proof?
- I don't dispute that it is true. If you look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mike Campese you will see that it was deleted because there was a consensus that it did not meet our criteria for inclusion. It lacked references, and failed to establish the notability of the subject. Finally, by writing an article about yourself or someone you work for, you breached our policy WP:AUTO. You would have been better to reply to some of the messages I left at the time, or to contribute to the AfD discussion, than to attempt repeatedly to recreate the article. Please don't do that again or I will have to consider blocking your account. Thanks --Guinnog 16:32, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
We are not trying to cause problems, we just want the page added and we will leave it alone. We will send you jpegs of proof. For example Guitar Player mag lessons, Guitar world, Gold Record. We just felt that Mike should of been added to some of these categories. He should of at least have his own page...Thanks mgmt
- I don't agree, and the time to have debated it was when I messaged you on the 7th, 8th and 12th of December, or else in the AfD discussion I referred you to above. Sorry. --Guinnog 16:47, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
We are sorry we did not reply! We are learning the Wiki guidlines........
We did send you the link of Mike's website, because you did not believe the info. You thought we were just posting random info, Mike's page was originally edited by a Wiki editor, we just added recent information and put up a pic and also I don't know why you keep pulling Mike's name off of pages which we did not originally add.............
- Mike's website is not enough for a biography on himself. We removed the links from the pages because he was considered not-notable and the article deleted. Sarah Ewart 04:42, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Mike's name was originally added to the alumni list by other people a long time ago, if you look back on the history you will see that.
If you could help us edit the page to fit the criteria of Wikipedia that would be great, originally Mike's page was edited by a Wikipedia editor.
- Guinnog tried to help you numerous times but you treated him with contemptuous silence.
- The trouble is I don't believe that you meet our basic notability criteria. Wikipedia isn't My Space, it's an encyclopedia and people need to be notable in their field in order to qualify for an article. I'm not sure what you mean by, "originally Mike's page was edited by a Wikipedia editor". An "editor" on Wikipedia is just a regular user. Furthermore, administrators can view deleted articles and edits. Each version of this article was posted by you with minimal edits made by other editors and usually when they did make edits, you reverted them. Wikipedia is a collaborative project, which means that no on owns an article, even when it is about themselves, and other editors are more than welcome to come along and edit the text as they wish. Also, you posted this article six times and each time it was deleted as a not notable vanity autobiography/bio. If you think you can establish your notability and can justify an article on yourself, please post on this page links to verifiable reliable sources (not your website). Also, please don't just repost this article again. You've done that at least six times already and if you do so again I will block your account. Thanks, Sarah 07:10, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
