Camuy Arenas

Camuy Arenas is an amateur baseball team in Puerto Rico founded in 1957, and is a member of the Amateur Baseball Federation of Puerto Rico. Many great players of the Sunday baseball call have played for Camuy Arenas. The club plays its home games in Camuy's Cheo Lopez Park, which was remodeled in 2000, prior to which it was a travelling club playing in the villages of Arecibo and

Camuy has won four regional titles in Béisbol AA (1964, 1975, 1987, and 2004) and one wild card (2005). In 1964, they defeated the Tiburones of Aguadilla in the regional semifinals and Melao-Melao of Vega Baja to win the division. They were eliminated in the championships by the Mulos of Juncos and by the Polluelos of Aibonito.

In 1975 they defeated the Utuado Mountaineers in the semi-finals and Vega Baja in the finals. They later lost in controversial fashion to the San Lorenzo Samaritans in the Carnival. In 1987 they eliminated the Florida Titans and the San Sebastian Patrulleros but were defeated in the Carnival by the Manatí Atenienses and the Las Piedras Artesans.

In 2004, after beating Utuado and San Sebastian, they were surprised to defeat the Brujos of Guayama in the Carnival, only to fall in six games against the Azucareros (Sugar-makers) of Yabucoa. In 2005 they eliminated Utuado but lost to the Navegantes (Navigators) of Aguada in the regional final, finishing tied with Vega Alta, and defeating them in a tiebreaker game. Afterwards Camuy fell against the champion Fajardo in seven hard-fought games.
