Campus SuperStar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Campus SuperStar (Chinese: 校园 SuperStar) is a spin-off of Project SuperStar, a popular singing talent-search competition in Singapore. The contestants comprise of students from secondary schools, junior colleges and ITE. The programme was broadcasted every Monday during its run from January 2 to April 3, 2006. It was hosted by Dasmond Koh, Hong Junyang and Sugianto.
Thousands of students auditioned for the competition, of which only twenty were shortlisted. The competition was eventually narrowed down to the four finalists through the process of elimination based on their score. The scoring is based on both points awarded by judges (thirty percent) and a popularity score (seventy percent) from the results of SMS voting and telepolling.

[edit] New Format Changes
Judges will have a bigger say in the overall result!
Unlike previous season where public voting accounted for 70% of the total score, Campus SuperStar 2 will be different. 70% of the results will now be based on judges’ scores and 30% on public voting.
“Campus SuperStar is meant for students with a passion and talent in singing. We feel that young talents should be nurtured in the right environment where recognition from professional judges is given more weightage over public acceptance,” says Paul Chan, Vice President of Branding & Promotions, MediaCorp TV which is the organiser of Campus SuperStar.
Returning host Dasmond Koh will host with former DJ Pornsak in this season. MediaCorp's artiste Fiona Xie will take up the role as a 'revolving' host covering outdoor events.
Based on the recent newspaper article, there will be 3 brand new judges with Jimmy Ye Liang Jun, Lin Yi Xin and Jim Lim on cast. Jimmy Ye Liang Jun will be also in-charge of training the 20 new superstars.
