Camponotus saundersi |
The Camponotus saundersi (Malaysian ant) carry poison sacks throughout their body. When they are attacked, they exude the poison, which is expelled from their mouths, behinds, and breaks in their exoskeletons. Though saundersi ants performing these acts die, the effects of the poison leave a lasting impression on any predator, thus possibly deterring future attacks on saundersi ant colonies.
