Campbell-Christie House

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Campbell-Christie House is a historic home that has been relocated to New Bridge Landing in River Edge, New Jersey. The house is a sandstone center-hall four-room house with a full cellar and attic, and has a gambrel roof.

The house was constructed in April 1774 in what was then Hackensack Township on the east side of the Hackensack River.

Threatened with destruction, the house was moved in its entirety in 1977 from New Milford to River Edge. The house is owned by the Bergen County Office of Cultural and Historic Affairs. The Bergen County Historical Society opens the house to the public on special occasions.
