[edit] Spartan and Athenian
Viewed by many as the greatest part about Camp Olympia. Based off the ancient Greek battes between Sparta and Athens this is a daily sports competition that pits the Red Spartans vs. the Blue Athenians in mainstream sports as well as more uncommon games such as O-Ball, Bombardment, 3-Ball, Baskerball, and various others. Legend has it that The Spartans swept the Athenians in the summer of '99 taking all four terms and laying claim as the first tribe to sweep the other. There's nothing like the original. After sweeping the summer of '06 and taking the last three terms in '05 the Spartans have won 7 consecutive terms more than halfway to the Athenians unlucky 13 set during the beginning of the new millenium.
[edit] History
All-American football players, Chris Gilbert and Corby Robertson, Jr. of University of Texas founded this camp in 1968. This facility has grown to become global year after year with youths from all over the world joining kids in Texas for an exciting and positive camping experience.
