Camp Gabriels

Camp Gabriels is a minumum security state prison, located in northern New York, USA. This prison is located in the Town of Brighton in Franklin County. The prison is inside the Adirondack State Park.

The prison is a conversion of a former tuberculosis sanatorium, which was named after Bishop Henry Gabriels when it was opened in 1897. The sanatorium was later used as part of nearby Paul Smith's College before is was sold to be used as a prison, beginning in 1982.

Most of the prisoners work on forestry-related projects and receive instruction from conservation officers.
