Cameron Elementary School is an elementary school in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. This school participates its best in events such as fundraising, sports and competitions.
This year there are about 53 grade 7 students that are going to graduate at Cameron. Cameron Elementary School is a feeder or in-catchment school to Burnaby Mountain Secondary School, so students graduating from Cameron are immediately placed into Burnaby Mountain Secondary.

Cameron has a strong academic program and we also offer lots of opportunities for extracurricular activities. You can choose to join sports teams, choir, or clubs and participate in Student Leadership and other service opportunities.

In 2006, Cameron Elementary competed in the local track and field competition at Swangard Stadium. The grade 5 boys team came in first in the boys 4x100 m relay.

The leadership community is a group of students that help make the school a better place. Joining leadership is not mandatory, but it is a commitment and there are consequences for students who don't participate to the greatest of there ability.
Leadership students organize events such as fundraisers and dances. The most recent event was "look-alike-day", a day when every tries and dress alike. Another upcoming event is the Talent show. This event is coming March 29, 2007.
[edit] Grade 7 Public Speaking Contest
Each year, grade 7 students of Cameron participate in a grade 7 public speaking contest. In 2007, the topic was the Journey is the Destination.This year 6 students managed to make it to the school speech finals where they presented to 3 judges and the intermediates of Cameron. The 6 students are Megan Livesey, Hooman Sharifi, Joo-Hyun Lee, Maziar Ahmadi, Yvonne Ma, and Christina Yu. Congratulations to those 6 students. Out of the 6 students 2 were chosen to go to the Zonal finals. The Zonal finals consists of many schools in Burnaby, many as good or better than these 2 chosen students. These 2 students were Maziar Ahmadi and Joo-Hyun Lee.
[edit] Vancity Junior Credit Union
Every second Wednesday at Cameron, students can come to deposit money into their accounts. The Vancity Junior Credit Union is operated by students of Cameron. This years board members are a very enthusiastic and dedicated group of students, all of which are grade 7's. The board members for this year are:
