He broke into the mainstream as a solo artist in 2001 and is currently working on his 3rd studio album. Cameron has been present in the british music scene for 7 years.
Cameron has stated his major influences are Radiohead, Damien Rice, The Mars Volta, Madonna and Tony Wood. He has already collaborated with Madonna on the track ‘I wish I was still a virgin’ and with Tony Wood on ‘The Crying Of The Pygmies’.
Although Clement was born in Ulaanbaartar, Mongolia (His parents were on a visit to the Mongolian capital) his ancestry is Scottish, which he is very proud of. He has often compared his music to the Bay City Rollers with acoustic guitars on LSD.
[edit] Trivia
Cameron hit the headlines in November 2005 after being ejected from a Morrissey concert. The former Smiths front man punched Clement in the face after an argument started regarding a Bacon roll. Clement is now barred for life from the venue on the Gateshead quayside.
Clement recently appeared on the MTV music video awards. He had drunk half a bottle of Jim Beam and taken a large quantity of Pro-plus. When he took to the stage to accept the award for Best video from Gary Barlow he said: ‘By gum Gary Barlow your legs are red!’ and then threw-up all over the podium and Mr Barlow’s shoes.
