Cameron Clapp

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cameron Clapp is a disabled athlete and actor.

On September 15, 2001, at the age of 15, Cameron was hit by a freight train travelling at high speed, causing the amputation of both legs above the knee and his right arm just below the shoulder.

He is known for his sporting achievements (particularly being the only triple amputee competing in athletic events) and appearances on NBC's My Name Is Earl in the role of Jake, the "no-legged boyfriend". He also works for the Hangar Prosthetic and Orthopedic group as a spokesperson and mentor to young amputees.

In November 2005 he was honored with a "Shining Star" award at the 58th annual Shining Star Awards Gala, an honor previously bestowed upon Christopher Reeve and Ray Charles.
