[edit] History

Originally a private airstrip, the area that was to become Camden Airport was utilised by the Royal Australian Air Force and other Allied air forces during World War II. In 2006, it was controversially sold by the Australian government to a private company, along with Bankstown and Hoxton Park. It is now mostly used by trainee pilots for flying schools, the Australian Air League and other forms of general aviation.

[edit] Radio Procedures

Camden operates as a GAAP (General Aviation Airport Procedures) airport on Saturdays and Sundays between 9 am and 5 pm. At other times it is a Common Traffic Advisory Frequency airport. The radio frequencies are: Tower/CTAF 120.1; ATIS 125.1; NDB 281.
