Welcome!

Hello Caligulavator, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Deckiller 02:28, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Date era changes

Please don't go around putting AD into places where it's not necessary. It's contrary to the Wikipedia manual of style. In general, edit warring over BC/AD vs. BCE/CE is considered uncivil. Please find somewhere to make positive contributions. Thanks. -- SCZenz 02:44, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

And I will definitely report you for any reverts past the 3rd that you make doing this. Please review WP:3RR to make sure you know what it says. -- SCZenz 02:47, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
Please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. Wikipedia has rules, and now you've been told about them. I urge you to find something more productive to contribute. -- SCZenz 02:53, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the hard work of others. Thanks. Search4Lancer 02:55, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

!

You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future. – ABCDe 03:04, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Ah, whoops, didn't realize you'd already blocked him. I've blocked him again. Same reason. 24 hours this time (no idea what the other time was for). john k 04:32, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Manual of Style

Here's your concrete: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)

Normally you should use plain numbers for years in the Common Era, but when events span the start of the Common Era, use AD or CE for the date at the end of the range

That's use plain numbers for years in the Common Era

Concrete enough for ya? Search4Lancer 03:06, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Interesting strategy

Unfortunately, new articles with misspelled titles and virtually no content on topics that are already covered in Wikipedia tend to get deleted rather quickly. The proper place to be fighting the good fight on BC/AD versus BCE/CE is at Wikipedia talk:Eras. Anything else just makes your position look bad. I would think that was obvious... -GTBacchus(talk) 04:25, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
