WikiProject Paintball News edit
  • It has been strongly suggested by fellow member Three ways round that we add references and sources to our articles and make this our priority for now, as expansion and addition of articles has been slow of late. Go find an unsourced article and get some good references! Together we can make the WikiProject Paintball more authentic and encyclopedic. RavenStorm, Lead Coordinator
  • Greetings all! It has been proposed on the Paintball WikiProject talk page that a quality rating system be created for articles within the Paintball Category. Please read the short discussion there and leave your opinion; also, if you are interested in joining the ad hoc 'rating committee', feel free to say so. Thanks! ~ Maximilli, Assistant Coordinator
Category News edit
  • The player positions pages have been renamed according to game type to be more accurate.
  • Two more subcategories have been created: Woodsball, and Speedball. If any new pages are created that are related to these, please use their respective category tags instead of [[Category:Paintball]]. Thanks!
Priority Tasks edit
To continue the project's drive toward FA status for the Paintball article, please review the project news and spend some time going over the article.
Sources: Articles such as Glossary of paintball terms have been tagged for not citing sources. Be sure to check around for more of these articles, and see if we can find some resources that can validate our information.
Current priority: The Paintball variations article needs to be synchronized with all other articles that mention variants of paintball games or paintball game types. Remember, to be consistent, that 'variants' are variants such as CTF, while 'game types' are woodsball, speedball, et cetera.
If you leave me a message here I'll answer it here, rather than on your talk page. This way the conversation stays together. Similarly, if I leave a message on your talk page, please reply there.

[edit] Welcome! becoming an admin

Welcome!

Hello, Caleb09, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

I saw that nobody had welcomed you yet, so here you go, better late than never ;) Regarding your question on adminship, you should read the Wikipedia:Administration FAQ. The most important skills an admin can have is making useful contributions to the Encyclopedia, being civil, and understanding and following the rules. There is no specific threshold for an amount of time or number of contributions you need to have made, but usually only active users who have been around for several months have a real shot at adminship. Finally, you should understand that adminship is not really a big deal. Administrators do not have many more capabilities than normal editors do (this is a wiki, after all). Hope that helps, cheers! jacoplane 17:45, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I noticed you asked how to archive a talk page

I noticed you asked this question on another talk page without getting a full answer. This section shows how to archive: Wikipedia:How_to_archive_a_talk_page.

Also if you wish to remove offensive content on your talk page without appearing to hide the information you can do it by deleting the text and then replacing it with a link to the diff when it was added. You find this diff through the history. HighInBC 19:39, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Example:

I have removed a sentence from this page, you can find it here[1]. HighInBC 19:39, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Creating a Wikiproject

I really want to create a Wikiproject I have looked in the list of Wikiprojects and the one I wish to make does not exist (a paintball wikiproject)! So please tell me how to create a Wikiproject if you know how! Caleb09 00:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help Me!

I made a article entitled Empire (paintball) on 9/10/2006 and it's going to get deleted if it can't be expanded and just made better! Caleb09 18:25, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit to Caffeine

Hi, I just wanted you to know that in this case, 'proprieties' was correct, 'properties' was incorrect, so I reverted it. Nothing personal. Anchoress 01:05, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. For some reason it just didn't seem right *blush* sorry Caleb09 01:09, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

No probs. In this case the word 'proprieties' was describing female decorum, as at the turn of the century. :-) It's not used that way much now, because, well, female decorum as such doesn't exist any more in most of the western world. :-)) Anchoress 01:13, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Concerning your recent paintball articles

Hello,

I checked out some of the new paintball marker articles you created. Although I am impressed by your enthusiasm, I really feel as though you're just creating articles for the sake of creating articles. Smart Parts Ion has become a candidate for deletion!

There is a certain protocol we wish to impose on newer paintball marker articles. For example, usage of the {{paintball-gun}} template is strongly encouraged, and copy-pasting from the manufacturer's page (like Tippmann or Smart Parts) is simply unacceptable. Please revise your newer articles, try and write them like the Spyder MR1 and Spyder Rodeo articles, do NOT upload Google images, and only write original content, citing your sources.

Thank you for your collaboration, RavenStorm of WikiProject Paintball

It's advised that you put this template at the top of your talk page, like RavenStorm and I have. ~ Maximilli, 16:17, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
