The Greek characters as they appear in this article are illegible to me running mozilla on linux, but I have no trouble reading ΑΒΓΔ, etc., with mozilla (although netscape can't handle them). -- Mike Hardy

They don't look right to me, either, using IE 6. -- Zoe

They look definitely wrong. But I don't know greek enough to tell what they should be. FvdP

They are scanos: an OCR program's attempts to try to recognise squiggles in the Greek alphabet as squiggles and punctuation in the Latin alphabet. There are lots of these in the 1911 entries. The Anome

Yes there are OCR programs with Greek language support. I think most of them have greek support but perhaps it should be specified within the installation program.
