Calvary Lutheran Church is located at 302 Olena Ave. SE in Willmar, Minnesota. The church congregation was organized in 1872 under the name "Norwegian - Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church", Willmar congregation. In 1874, the first church building was built on Litchfield Avenue between First and Second Streets East in Willmar. The Willmar congregation became the "Lutheran Free Church" in 1897 and the second church was built on the corner of Litchfield Avenue and First Street East in 1903. Church services and meetings began to be held in English for the first time in 1933. In 1943 the congregation voted to change the name to Calvary Lutheran Church. The current church building was built in 1962.
