Calumet High School (Michigan)

Calumet High School is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The town was established when the during a Copper Boom in the Upper Peninsula beginning in the 1860s. The school itself is a product of the powerful mining company Calumet & Hecla that once owned and operated much of Calumet. In the late 19th and early 20th century Calumet became a large prosperous town.

In the vote to become the capital of Michigan, Calumet lost to Lansing by two votes. But the population drastically decreased once the mines began to close down during the 1940's and 1950's.

There are about 500 students enrolled in Calumet High School and this number is increasing every year.

The courses of study include Academic, Engineering, Business, Tech and Trades.
