From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Call of Combat is a free, multiplayer World War II combat online game.
Each player has four soldiers to command with basic weaponry and grenades. Limited improved weapons depending on the map settings and the commanding officer can be available. The game is played on a rectangular grid map with various layouts of buildings, walls, hay bails and forests.
[edit] Origins
Approximately a year after the bankruptcy of 2am in April 2001, the Call of Combat project was begun by former player and clan leader, KAding. Written in Java, Call of Combat is cross-platform and runs on systems that supports the Java platform and OpenGL, with recorded success on Windows (XP/2000), Mac OS X and Linux.
Call of Combat gameplay is largely based upon Chain of Command. The games have similar command menus, as well as the similar objectives. However, Call of Combat has expanded upon this older game by offering campaign scenarios, more frequent updates, grenade exchanges between players, etc.
[edit] Military Police
Military Police (MP) are the moderators of the game. They enforce the rules. There has been some debate about some MPs abusing their powers.
