Calibern is a Dutch Heavy Metal/Power Metal band from the city of Delft, in the Netherlands.

[edit] Biography

Calibern began as a Power Metal band formed in 2000 by several friends who enjoyed similar tastes in music. The group eventually disbanded after a number of personnel changes, but reformed in 2004, without knowing exactly what kind of music they would make. After more changes in the line up they became a Metal band.

Calibern is now a Heavy Metal band, bringing back the Old School Heavy Metal from the 80s mixed with modern influences. Among the band's influences are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon, and Crimson Glory, but also newer bands like Symphony X, Kamelot and Nevermore. The band has played dozens of gigs with bands like: Ruffians, Intense, Double Diamond, Roadkill, Ancient Mariners, Black Knight, Blo.Torch, Serenade of Darkness, Speedchaser, Tripple 7, and Slander.

Calibern plays self-composed songs as well as a few covers. The band released a Demo CD in 2004 called The Darkest Night and in 2007 self-published a seven-song Mini CD called Insane.
