Talk:Caine (World of Darkness)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As I recall the Tzi Antediluvian is also their founder. Shoudn't the Diffrence be noted

The thirteen members of the Third Generation who were cursed, and who were all Antediluvians, are the founders of the original Thirteen Clans: Assamite, Brujah, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Tzimisce, Lasombra, Salubri, Toreador, Ravnos, Gangrel, Setites, Samedi and Ventrue. The other clans in Masquerade and Dark Ages (not counting those in Far East or Africa, which were miserable failures at expanding Masquerade's boundaries beyond Western civilization) are bloodlines that gradually became recognized as Clans: Daughters of Cacaphony, Cappadocian (later Giovanni), Baali, Gargoyles, et al. There is no distinction between the Tzimisce founder and the founders of the other twelve original clans in that respect. Ladyeternal 24 May 2006, 01:28 (UTC)

[edit] Mistakes

"When finally Gabriel, archangel of healing came to him, he offered a path to redemption called Golconda, on which Caine could find peace if he chose. These curses altered Caine into the first vampire."

Raphael is the archangel of healing and who came to Caine with Golconda.

Also, aren't the Daughters of Cacophony from the Malkav's line?

[edit] Curses

Cleaned up the curse section to more fully represent the Capadociam. Removed the reference to the Daughters as their origin is still debatable and likely to cause confusion.

Also cleaned up the section on the Caine & the flood a little.

The Cappadocians are not an original clan. I have researched this thoroughly in my sourcebooks. There is no curse that covers them. The Samedi are the clan that was cursed to wear death's visage.

Also, even if Caine was immortal, he wasn't simply sitting on top of the surf day in and day out waiting for the flood to subside. He had to be somewhere. His immortality doesn't change that.

In closing, this page refers to the original Masquerade only, not the reboot of the WoD that White Wolf has recently attempted. Please set up a separate page if you wish to deal with the reboot.

I have also researched the Capadocain Clan exstensively in the WoD source books. No mention of the Samedi exists in the Dark Age line, the Samedi appear only in modren nights. Troglyditia the probable founder of the line appears in the Cappadocian clan book as a 5th gen. I'm willing to change my views, just provide a page and book and I'll check. As for the NWoD I have no knowledge of the setting. Feel free to create a new page and link it in the requiem setting.
On the flood, considering Caine is immortal he could have just sat at the bottom of the ocean and waited for the flood to subside. A vampire of his power could easily store blood for this length of time.
