Caipirina

CAIPIRINA is a project of the ftw. (Research Center for Telecommunications Vienna) and is the abbreviation for: Convergence towards All-IP: IMS Re-alization Issues for NGN Applications.

The CAIPIRINA-project (“N9”) is a follow-up of CAMPARI and SIMS and is based on the rich expertise and results of these very successful projects and focuses on aspects arising while IMS is deployed on top of existing (mobile) networks, which are:

  • Detailed Performance evaluations for various scenarios
  • Feasibility and Performance of different Application Server Architectures
  • IMS deployment and service orchestration
  • IMS services (location/presence, Real-Time (RT), near RT, 3rd party applications)
  • Problems with IPv4 in IMS and migration to-wards IPv6
  • Perceptual Quality of Service (QoS)
  • IMS-charging and IMS-security
  • IMS inter-working with other IMS-test-beds and live IMS-networks
