Cainhoe Castle
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cainhoe Castle was near the village of Clophill in Bedfordshire (grid reference TL097374).
This was a castle of the late 11th or early 12th century with a motte and three baileys. It belonged to the d'Aubigny family and then passed to the Lacys and the Nortons, and then on to the Greys, Earls of Kent.
The earthworks remain.
