Cabana District (Ancash)

The Cabana District (Spanish: Distrito de Cabana) is one of eleven districts of the Pallasca Province in Ancash Region, Peru. Its capital city, Cabana, figures as the birthplace of the ex-President of Peru Alejandro Toledo Manrique even though he was born in Ferrer, which is part of the neighboring District of Bolognesi. The District was formed on January 2, 1857.

The Cabana District is home to a number of important cultural heritage sites, including the Fortín de los Pashas, which is believed to be the center of the military and religious life of the indigenous Conchucos people and home of the cult image of Katequilla, worshipped by both the Conchucos and the Huamachucos. The District is also home to the ruins at Mashonga.

The patron saints of Cabana District are Saint James the Great (Santiago el Mayor) and Philip the Apostle (San Felipe); both are celebrated on the Saint's Day holiday on July 25.
