C venues

C Venues is a collection of venues at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2006 it had 12 performance spaces at 4 different venues. It had over 200 shows giving it the largest programme on the fringe. The 2006 venues were as follows: C (normally Adam House, owned by Edinburgh University), C too (normally St Columba's by the Castle church), C cubed (normally the Celtic Lodge, a masonic lodge), C central (situated in the Carlton Hotel).

C venues also has an in house theatre company; C theatre, which was set up in 1992. It is the only in-house theatre company at a major fringe venue. In addition C venues has an in house events arm including The Establishment, The Electric Cabaret and The Midnight Carousel. In 2006 The Midnight Carousel hosted the first Terrier Awards. C venues hosted the 2005 and 2006 Editors Awards for Three Weeks the well respected Edinburgh Festival publication. C venues was home to Total Theatre 2006 Award Winner And Even My Goldfish.

In 2005 CtheFilm was launched. This award winning programme made use of the C electric venue which was formerly the Edinburgh Odeon. In this films as well as normal fringe shows were shown. The films showed included some independent films such as the West Wittering Affair and films that had come off general release such American Pie, Donnie Darko and the Harry Potter series. In 2006 CtheFilm focused on contemporary film shorts including the critically acclaimed Future Shorts. This year C venues also welcomed Future Cinema to Edinburgh for the first time.

C venues is based in North West London.
