In the computer game World of Warcraft, C'Thun is one of five known "Old Gods" indigenous to the land of Azeroth in the Warcraft universe. The Old Gods were said to be beings of unimaginable evil and power that ruled before the coming of the Titans. He is the creator of the Aqir, an insectoid race that eventually split into the Nerubians and the Qiraji.

C'thun appears as the final boss encounter in the 40-man dungeon, The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. He appears in two different forms over the course of the battle, first as the enormous Eye of C'Thun where player are made to move clockwise/anti-clockwise in order to survive laser beams which can link players together if they aren't spread out in a organised manner then C'thun spawns eyes and appears fully in all his horrific glory.

Holding true to Chris Metzen's lore, C'Thun was the most powerful boss monster to appear within the game world of World of Warcraft at the time of his release, usurping the former "final boss," Nefarian, the black dragon. However, C'Thun himself is trumped by the final bosses of the Necropolis Naxxramas dungeon, which is greater in difficulty than the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. However it is most likely that this is an avatar or puppet of the old god and that the old god has not truly escaped.
