[edit] Please Except My Apology
The other day you deleted an article of mine describing a drink cocktail called the White Cloak. Your reason for this was "That Wikipedia is not a place of things made up in school". I understand completely and feel like a jerk, but on the other hand you have to understand what I was trying to do. Have you read any of Malcolm Gladwell's books? Well neither have I actually only the first few chapters of "Tipping Point" (in quotations because I can't seem to figure out how to underlind) so far, but in those first few chapters he describes how most popular fads are started up by only a small group of people. This is what I was attempting to achieve. To make a cocktail of a close friends creation popular amongst the public, and what better place than Wikipedia to achieve such a goal? Now I could have lied to you and insisted that the White Cloak already was a very popular drink in the town of Huntington, and what authority would you have to say otherwise? You have done no research on the matter. But, I put myself above such behavior and have allowed you the truth, and I have reprinted the article anyway. Also the information I inputted in the article is not incorrect and is therfore correct and exceptable within an encyclopedia such as Wikipedia which is not only called "The Free Encyclopedia" because there is no monetary exchange.
My Deepest Apologies,
WhiteCloak 17:09, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
P.S. Also it was not "The other day" but today, I just thought that was a better way to start off the paragraph

[edit] Help with translation
I'm currently working on a script intended to create short articles on political parties on a variety of wikipedias simultaneously. However, in order for the technique to work I need help with translations to various languages. If you know any of the languages listed at User:Soman/Lang-Help , then please help by filling in the blanks. For example I need help with Finnish. Thanks, --Soman 14:57, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help. I know that Finnish grammar can be complicated, but I've tried a preliminary translation at User:Soman/Lang-Help-test. --Soman 10:30, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kysymys Commonsissa
Hei! Jätin sinulle kysymyksen Commonsiin. Kun et ilmeisesti ole siellä päin liikkunut, ajattelin tulla huhuilemaan tänne :) -Samulili 14:10, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pabianice in Finnish
Hello Ulayiti!
Can you write on the Finnish wikipedia an article about this town??? Thanks in advance, Maciek17
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Masturbation and bodybuilding
I was going to run this through AfD because even if 1 & 2 were complete nonsense, there is a gleam of an argument in 3 & 4, and I'd like to hear if that is actually a valid concern that has attracted attention by serious researchers. Google hits aplenty (not surprisingly), but nothing that answers my question in any way. Note also Google Scholar search ~ trialsanderrors 18:38, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Men in Black, not notable?
- Has won or placed in a major music competition.
I quote from their website: "The 2005 International Collegiate Quartet Champions, Men in Black, were formed in 2001. [...] Men In Black have competed in the MBNA America Collegiate Barbershop Quartet Contest since 2002[, ...] accepting first place in 2005."
- Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast on a national radio network.
I'm not sure if this qualifies, but they were on NBC's Star Tomorrow program, though they weren't the only featured artists.
On the other hand, The Klein Four meet none of wikipedia's criteria for notability, yet survived despite being nominated for deletion. Therefore, I urge you to reconsider your deletion of the Men in Black article.

[edit] Anchise Picchi
Anchise Picchi is an old and famous Italian painter and sculptor. Please, go to http://www.anchisepicchi.com for operas. Why did you delete the page? Thanks. [edit] Dates
Hello, I saw you reversed my edit on 187 BC, and two other editors have also asked me about this. If I have made some mistake, I apologize -- I consider it pertinent to put the leaders of nations in ancient times similiar to modern day dates. I saw something about further discussions on related things on one of the other pages, i'll stop the dates for now and head over there for today to avoid unecessary rancor over picayune stuff. - I don't understand. Many of the "events", "births" and "deaths" portions are also blank as well. Maybe a "under construction" notice may be able to help? The Coffee Shop That Smiles Upon The River 15:59, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chemical Vomit
It is not my band.
Chemical Vomit are a signed grindcore/noisegrind band (i.e. signed to a mates label)
www.myspace.com/chemicalvomit1
and are quite shit.
They're renaming the band My Chemical Toilet as a homage to their fave band, My Chemical Romance

[edit] I beg to differ..
You said: Some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Equality Mississippi may not be sufficiently well-known to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers, and encourages them to become Wikipedians. On Wikipedia, all users are entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects. - ulayiti (talk) 12:46, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
I say: While the places or things I wrote about may not be sufficiently well-known to someone in Finland, they are well known to people in the United States. Go do a search on Google for Equality Mississippi, Camp Sister Spirit, and the University of Mississippi.
Equality Mississippi itself is a historic civil rights organization just in existence alone considering the hostility in the deep South and in Mississippi towards its gay and lesbian citizens. The fact that, despite the risk of death, unemployment and homelessness, an organization exists in Mississippi to fight for equality for gay and lesbian Mississippians is equal to such an organization existing in Iraq or Afghanistan!
Camp Sister Spirit was world-wide news in the 1990's and even garnered the personal attention and oversight of former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno who directed the FBI to come to Mississippi and protect the camp's founders as they were constantly being shot at, property destroyed and family pets murdered.
There should be no discussion necessarty for the University of Mississippi but I digress. This is an internationally known and respected institution of higher education.
The events described are part of the timeline and history of this historic organization, and warrant themselves inclusion as well.
Please reconsider. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Allstarecho (talk • contribs) 21:43, 21 August 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Islamic Barnstar Award
Please offer your opinion, vote, or whatever about your choice for the image to be used with the Islamic Barnstar Award at the Barnstar proposals page. Although there is consensus for the concept of an Islamic Barnstar Award, some editors would like to change the image for the award. I was just thinking you should be aware of this discussion because you have contributed to Islamic-related articles, received the Islamic Barnstar Award, or have contributed to the Islam-related Wikiprojects, etc.--72.48.104.52 16:32, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mistula's Notability
I'm sorry, I'm new to posting articles in Wikipedia (I think that's relatively obvious since my first article was deleted thrice already), and I panicked so much that I didn't do what I'm supposed to do when an article is marked for speedy deletion.
Anyway, what exactly is it that would define Mistula's "notability"? Do they have to be internationally known or award-winning to deserve a page in Wikipedia?

[edit] BSDS Productions
Hi, you deleted an article i created for BSDS Productions company. They are a credible brand with many well-known contributors including David Yates and Michael Gambon, i understand that you may be deleting the article due to them being little known currently, however the company is newly founded and their current project Roanoke the lost colony is already featured in places on wikiepidia and has appeared in several newspapers around the country.
How do i prove that this isnt spamming and that im purely trying to put the name on wikiepidia so that people who search for the film can learn a bit about the film makers on your site! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Danielshirley (talk • contribs) 19:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Mistula's Notability (again)
Yeah, I know it was dumb to keep on recreating it, but as I said, I panicked, and I'm pretty much a silly noob who got a little overexcited. Thank you for helping me (although I think I may have annoyed you to some extent) and directing me to the page that lists the requirements for notability.
The more recent version of the page stated that Mistula has been featured on music websites (I listed them there), have recently won a competition on Overplay, that their video has been shown on channels like Myx and MTV Asia, and that they have been featured in a local rock magazine entitled RockNation (they were interviewed and everything). The page regarding notability stated that at least one of the criteria for notability must be met, and I think that what I stated somewhat falls under the "Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers, personal blogs, etc...)" criterion, but since it was deleted again, I'm not too sure anymore.
And additionally, Mistula isn't my band.
Anyway, if there really is no way that I can prove Mistula's notability apart from what I've already done, I won't make the page anymore.
Again, sorry for the trouble.

[edit] Mistula Article
I completely understand if you were annoyed by what I did; I mean, apart from not knowing ANYTHING about the criteria for posting articles for bands, I kept on recreating the article out of panic. I'm really sorry, I know it was stupid of me. Thank you so much for reconsidering! I will be posting my take on it shortly (I'll play it safe and take a lot of time to actually think about what to say; we can't have me running around like a loon again, haha). Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it. :)

[edit] Angantyr
Angantyr is certainly not my band, and I don't even know the man behind it in person. Actually it is very well-known and highly reputated in Scandinavia and in Denmark in particular. I apologies that the article might have been a little short, but I did plan to add some more to it later. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Black-Paine (talk • contribs) 18:05, 28 August 2006 (UTC).

[edit] VeryLiberating Article
I noticed you locked and removed the VeryLiberating article I created and I believe it is notable enough to warrant inclusion. It is referenced and linked to from the PostSecret and Apology_Project articles. it was also referenced on the GroupHug article until today, when that link was removed for some unknown reason.
