Bygfoot is a football management game for Linux, other Unix-like systems and Microsoft Windows. Bygfoot follows in the tradition of games such as Football Manager.

The latest stable version is 2.0.1, released in October 2006. Version 2.1.1 was released in March 2007. Released under the GNU General Public License, Bygfoot is free software.

[edit] Gameplay

The games has one playing as a manager of a football team, training the players, buying and selling them, contracting loans, maintaining the stadium, and so on. Teams can be promoted or relegated, and a player can be fired if their skills are not up to scratch. It is customisable by users, and contributors have added most of the world's major football leagues. Due to copyright restrictions the game does not contain actual team and player names, and uses approximations instead.[1]

[edit] History

After releasing 2.0.1, original developer Gyözö Both indicated that he was stepping down from involvement in the game.[2] Development has been taken over by Mark Lawrenz.[3]
