Buzzy Feiten grew up in Centerport, New York and graduated from Harborfields High School in Greenlawn, New York, in 1966. Buzzy jouned the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in 1969, playing such famous gigs as the Atlantic City Pop Festival and the legandary Woodstock Festival. Following his tenure with Butterfield, he became a session musician, recording with the likes of Bob Dylan and the Rascals.

Some time later, as Buzz Feiten, he invented a system for tuning guitars more accurately. The difference, though subtle, is especially evident in chords. The system involves some minor alterations that can be retrofitted to most guitars, and it is standard equipment on a growing number of new guitars.
