Buzzards Bay is the horse that won the 2005 Santa Anita Derby, owned by Fog City Stable and trained by Jeff Mullins.

Buzzards Bay was foaled 2/17/02 in Florida. His sire was Marco Bay (winner of the Tampa Bay Derby who earned over a quarter of a million dollars during his racing days). His dam was Life's Lass. Though of modest pedigree, Buzzards Bay has earned nearly 1.2 million dollars thus far. As of 6/17/06, he has won 5 times with his most important and notable victory being the 2005 Santa Anita Derby as a 3-year old. (This Grade 1 horse race is a stepping stone for the Kentucky Derby.) Other wins include the Golden Gate Derby (2005), the Oaklawn Handicap and the All American Handicap (2006). He was sold at the Fasig-Tipon sale in July 2005 for $725,000. His current trainer is Ron Ellis.
