Found this entry, not sure what to do with it:

* The feeling referred to as butterflies in your stomach, usually felt when you are nervous or excited, is a result of your adrenal glands releasing adrenalin into your blood. The adrenalin routes blood to important muscles and other organs, slowing the blood flow to the stomach and thus causing the fluttering feeling.
