Buttrio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 60 km northwest of Trieste and about 10 km southeast of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,897 and an area of 17.8 km².[1]
The municipality of Buttrio contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Camino, Caminetto, and Vicinale.
Buttrio borders the following municipalities: Manzano, Pavia di Udine, Pradamano, Premariacco.
